End of Month Power Poll

Exactly one month into Season Five of DBBL, we've decided to add a new feature to the blog... a monthly power poll. Here is a rundown of the teams from 1-32, as they rank so far.

The Fine Fifteen...

1. Richmond (20-8): The 2x defending champs feature a complete attack, ranking top-10 in OPS, fielding percentage, and team ERA.

2. Pittsburgh (18-10): In a surprise move, the Steelmakers have traded top slugger Nick Bonds. It also appears that Matty Baez and his $20 million contract have been relegated to a bench roll.

3. Minnesota (17-10): The Baggies a svelte 3.38 team ERA and a well-balanced offense.

4. Texas (17-10): The already dangerous offense gets a huge boost with the addition of Bonds.

5. Portland (17-10): The offense has been off to a slow start, but the pitching is stellar as usual.

6. Memphis (16-11): Led by a tandem of young stars, Jesus Camacho and Cesar Figueroa.

7. Scranton (16-11): Kordell Moss has been virtually un-hittable in his first 7 starts.

8. Durham (16-11): With standout players entrenched at SS and CF, Durham was able to cash in and trade superstar Rob Tankersley. Will they miss his bat?

9. Scottsdale (14-14): Despite the slow start, the Redlegs have a strong balance of pitching and hitting.

10. Chicago (16-11): The Hawks have a very good nucleus of young players, but do not have a bona fide top-of-the-rotation starter on the ML roster.

11. Little Rock (16-11): 2nd baseman Alvin Ross is off to a red-hot start (.323/.378/.606).

12. Colorado Springs (15-12): The Starrs will be carried by their pitching depth this season.

13. San Diego (15-13): The Figs have a few week spots in their lineup, but have decent pitching and play very good defense.

14. St. Louis (13-14): The Red Ravens have an excellent group of young hitters, but are thin in the rotation after their ace, Coco Garcia.

15. Charlotte (14-13): The club is anchored by young stud Kerry Campbell, who is averaging a strikeout per inning through 6 starts.
