There was rumor going around Duff these days is that there is a war of words taking place between 2 AL clubs.
We can now confirm that it is indeed true. The tiff is purported to be over American League Supremacy.
The team owners in question are St. Louis Red Ravens owner Deaconsoule and Memphis Screaming Mimes owner Cincysteve.
A heated exchange took place when after Deaconsoule commented on how likely he thought it was for his team to win the WS. Cincysteve apparently intoxicated on by proclaiming "You would be wise to save your prospects deac. Wouldn't want to see you trade away your future since this is my year." Futher harse words ensued and security had to seperate the two owners.
While being escorted out of the building opposite the direction of the drunken Memphis owner. Deaconsoule was heard saying "That team is full of a bunch of minor league prima donna's, we'll kick their ass like Ali vs Terrell"
The quote refering to an opponent Muhammed Ali fought in 1967 made famous for the brutality Ali showed by beating Terrell down for 15 rounds but purposely never finishing him off. Even demanding to Terrell "What's my name?" Afterwards leaving Terrell's face reduced to a bloody pulp with his eyes swollen shut.
The two teams will square off ten times this season including 2 early season series. Both owners have reportedly vowed to destroy the other this season. So get your popcorn ready folks. Cause this is going to be one hell of a show.
And maybe the rivalry Duff had been sorely lacking.
